We only overnight to catch an early flight the next morning. The hotel offers a huge buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This property is good for one-night stay. Not a good location if you want to go to out to eat for having some activities. Strictly for a quick hop to the airport but beware. The taxis driver will not happy because of such short distance. They will charge you as much as going to District 1 and can be nasty because they can"t make money taking you to the airport. Roomy room. Clean and comfortable bed.
I ate a package of coconut flavor cover nuts. It was very good. I asked the front desk if I could buy some 100 packages from the hotel. It seems very inexpensive but the hotel staff said the location was very close to the big market. I took a taxi with my daughter to the market to buy but they only have a few packages left at the store. I bought whatever left from the market and went back to the hotel. While having my dinner I spoke with a restaurant staff and she told me she could buy it for me and she will bring it back to me in the morning before my flight. She said it will be much cheaper than the hotel. I thanks her for going out of her way to help me. The next morning she gave me 120 packages. I said no problem. I gave her some tips. She refuses. I thought that was nice. When I came back to my room to pack I realized not only it was more expensive than the hotel but also more expensive than the market and when you buy 100 bags you get 20 bags free. Beware. It was my fault. Not much $$$ for us American but that was not very nice.

Stay in the new wing!
The hotel is split over two sites, the new wing and the old wing. Unfortunately we were put in the old wing of this hotel despite paying full price, and I was just too tired to argue about it. It was very dated and the air-con wasn"t great. The bathroom was very small and had a shower in the bath, which was a bit tricky, although I have to say the water pressure was excellent.
There is a room service menu but it had little choice.
However, it is perfect for an overnight stay near the airport, and their transfer service was excellent.
Going by the other reviews, if you stay in the new wing, you will be fine.
Terrific airport hotel
This is an ideal hotel if you are taking another flight the next day. Transfers to and from the airport are included in your booking and this can be a relief rather than negotiating the crazy traffic in Vietnam for the first time. Rooms are nice although the noise from the air-conditioning could wake the dead and a good breakfast buffet is included. The hotel offers the use of a swimming pool (somehow connected to the hotel complex) which is across the road, but when we took a look if was filled with children (maybe the pool is used by locals on the weekends). Not a lot of choices for an evening meal - the advertised nightly buffet was being privately used when we were there, the Japanese restaurant was full, the Grill across the road unfortunately did not look very appealing (it is adjacent to the swimming pool). We settled for the Korean restaurant next door. Nice food, but hard to understand how the prices were organised - certainly not what was on the menu. On our first visit when we arrived in Vietnam the hotel was very quiet but on our return visit, on a Saturday night, I counted no less than 20 tourist buses going in and out over a 12 hour period. As an airport hotel, for a brief stay, it is terrific. We felt looked after. Special thanks to the wonderful doorman/bellhop who seems to know the comings and goings of everyone. He has a very cool uniform too!
Room type: Executive Deluxe
For just one night if you have an early connection and want to be close to airport this is a good choice. This was one of the nicer hotel rooms I had over my 15 nights away. This is an unusual set up for a hotel and spread over two sides of the road. There is a choice of four restaurants and you really need to eat at one of them as nothing else in English around. I had the buffet and really enjoyed it. Do be aware though that for some reason the massages at the hotel spa are for MEN only????
Staff are very helpful and rooms very wuite but I was on top floor.
The hotel is a bit ordinary even in the new wing. Its the staff that keep us coming back. They are so friendly and helpful with good local knowledge that I always suggest to people going to HCMC for the first time a pick up from the First Hotel and a couple of nights stay is a great introduction to Vietnam. When you arrive after a long flight it great to be welcomed at the airport and looked after by the wonderful staff at this hotel.
