On December 17th 2009 at the New World Hotel. Mr. Huynh Van Phat - First Hotel's General Manager and  all charity partners had shared a symbolic cheque for "Christmas Charity 2009" programme.

Participating properties contribute resources that would otherwise have gone to sending holiday greeting cards and other promotional items to business affiliates and colleagues. These partners are in turn moved to donate resources of their own, as are many local publications, which provide free advertising to support the effort.

The proceeds from this year’s campaign will go to Education for Development, the District 12 school established in 1993 by the HCMC People’s Committee. The school provides special education services for 120 Vietnamese children who are hearing impaired, autistic, or suffer from other learning disabilities.
